Sir Norman (Kcb, Cvo)ARTHUROf Newbarns, Colvend Ex General Officer Commanding Scotland and Lord Lieutenant of the Stewartry of Kirkcudbrightshire. Died peacefully at the Countess of Brecknock Hospice, Andover on 18th December 2023. Sir Norman Arthur, beloved husband of Jillian and the late Tessa, cherished father of Simon and Camilla, Grandfather to five. Sadly missed by all who knew him. Private Burial to be held followed by a Thanksgiving service at Colvend Church on Wednesday 17th January at 2pm, to which all friends are respectfully invited to attend. A memorial service will be held at the Canongate Church, Edinburgh at a later date. No flowers please. A retiral collection will be offered to Christian Aid.
